Which Box should I use?

          

Choosing the right Kodi box, can be trickier than you would think.  The 'right box', is probably going to be different for different people.  Do you need to play 4K UHD video?  Well then you  probably aren't going to want a $70 Raspberry Pi with an ARM processor.  Do you want to play retro video games, and watch the latest TV shows, and do it on the cheap?   Well then the Pi is looking pretty good now...

The choices we go over are:

Raspberry Pi3:

Price:  ~$70-120  Lower Component Cost & Upgradeable

Windows Home Theater PC:

Price:  ~$150  This is a beginner's "Do Everything" Box.

Android TV box:

Price:  ~$100+  Cheap & Pre-configured, but often buggy

Linux box- Kodibuntu:

~$0-500  Advanced "Do Everything" Box.

I've owned all of these, and believe me, they are not all equal.  Save yourself some time and money, have a look at the Pro's and Con's we've put together before you go out and buy that cheap little Android box your neighbor's been raving about.  You can thank me later :)
